Opportunity to Serve: Community Campus Day 2024
Public education budgets are tight. Approximately 90% of Dallas ISD funds go to educator salaries and facility maintenance. This leaves little for campus improvement projects and resources.
United to Learn Community Campus Days are joyful events that unite local volunteers and sponsors with Dallas ISD campuses. Together we give elementary school spaces a boost and a lift to make learning more fun and engaging for students and educators.
Seven years ago, Community Campus Day was a one-day event. Today, Community Campus Day projects take place year-round, providing schools with a variety of options ranging from student and family events to library transformations, playground upgrades, and DREAM BIG projects that schools design.
United to Learn exists to bridge this gap, bringing in resources and the community to help campuses thrive.
With plans to expand to all Title 1 schools in future years, today United to Learn works with 75 Dallas ISD elementary schools, representing 36,000 students, 90% of whom are economically disadvantaged, qualifying for free or reduced lunch.
United to Learn Community Campus Days would not be possible without the generous support of sponsors and volunteers.
