Ty and United to Learn are teaming up tomorrow morning to visit Nathan Adams Elementary School and Anne Frank Elementary School to distribute “Beanie Boos” to all students.

United to Learn aims to use these soft toys to enhance social and emotional support in schools. The stuffed animals will serve as deep-breathing buddies during mindfulness activities to provide a regulatory effect on the nervous system to reduce stress and improve emotional regulation, United to Learn said in a press release.

“The last few years have caused us to hug each other a little bit tighter,” says Ty Warner, CEO of
Ty Inc. “It gives me joy to provide products that will contribute to the well-being of a child through
social-emotional learning (SEL) in schools.”

The schools were selected for their requested focus on social and emotional wellness support, and 1,130 of these “Beanie Boos” will be delivered.

During the distribution, 30-40 students will receive a breathing demonstration to show how the stuffed animals will be used. These demonstrations will take place at 9:30 a.m. at Nathan Adams and 11:15 a.m. at Anne Frank.

Dallas ISD promotes social-emotional learning in schools through family engagement, content integration, explicit skills instruction, and climate and culture teachings. Social-emotional learning is a required guideline for early childhood education, though many schools incorporate SEL standards throughout K-12.
