Sarah Burr Bogaert

Director of Community Activation

As Director of Community Activation, Sarah Burr Bogaert establishes and maintains relationships with partner organizations and runs programs that empower and engage students, parents, partners, and community volunteers.

Sarah Burr Bogaert has worked for over 7 years in non-profit and religious organizations. Sarah began as a Missionary to Youth working with teens in a suburb of Chicago. She then continued her outreach internationally working with Global Lutheran Outreach in Guatemala and Paraguay. There she supported the non-profit, Cristo Para Todas Las Naciones and el Hogar Jardín de Esperanza for children affected by HIV/AIDS. When she returned to the United States, Sarah worked with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas at the Semones Family YMCA as the Senior Program Director of Camp and Outreach. At the YMCA, Sarah focused on supporting many Dallas ISD students and their families through afterschool and summer programming to mitigate learning loss.

Sarah’s favorite part of her job is that she is a bridge-builder between our public schools and the community at large. A fun fact about Sarah is that she is bilingual in Spanish and is a classically trained singer. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.
