As Director of Literacy, Marisol Rodriguez oversees the strategic planning and implementation of literacy initiatives on supported U2L campuses. She works in collaboration with field experts and Dallas ISD administration to create tailored solutions that aim to accelerate student achievement.

Marisol Rodriguez has over 16 years of experience in education. She began her career as a classroom teacher with Dallas ISD. Marisol took on the task of curriculum planning for ELAR and SLAR, launched literacy campus initiatives, conducted literacy professional developments, and became a member of organizations such as the International Literacy Association. Afterward, she entered the nonprofit world as the Bilingual Program Specialist in the education department of the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. At the Arboretum, Marisol developed programming centered around best practices in literacy, STEM, parent and teacher engagement, and elementary education.

Marisol joined U2L because she attended Dallas ISD schools and was a Dallas ISD teacher. She was excited to work for an organization that worked so closely to close resource gaps for the district that has educated her in several ways (first as a student and then as a teacher). A fun fact about Marisol is that she was Teacher of the Year on her campus the last year she taught. Marisol enjoys reading, watching reality TV, and spending time with family.
