As Director of Social and Emotional Learning, Lauren Brzeski oversees the strategic planning to provide critical resources, training, and opportunities for collaboration about the social and emotional health of students and educators.

Lauren joined the United to Learn family with a robust educational background.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Urban Education, Mathematics, and English as a Second Language (ESL) Education.  She also holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  She has previously served as a literacy specialist and teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools.  Following that, she worked with refugee, asylee, and immigrant students in Tucson Unified School District.  Lauren has also taught in the Dallas Independent School District.  After leaving the classroom, Lauren transitioned to Central Staff with Dallas ISD, where she served in various roles including an English and a Second Language Instructional Specialist, Project Coordinator, and Network Coordinator.  She was instrumental in rolling out the district’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Framework, NWEA MAP Growth, and other district initiatives.  She worked closely with School Leadership and the Executive Directors over the southern sector of the district.

Lauren loves to unplug and recharge by listening to audiobooks or podcasts, propagating her house plants, studying the science of the human brain, or sipping coffee in her backyard with her bulldogs.  On Sundays, you can find Lauren cheering on her beloved Green Bay Packers as a very proud shareholder.
