Ashlee And Chris Kleinert Roll Up Their Sleeves To Co-Chair United To Learn’s 2023 Community Campus Day

Despite the chill of winter lingering, United To Learn’s 2023 Community Campus Day (CCD) volunteers have spent past weekends busily reinvigorating Dallas Independent School District elementary schools.

Co-chairing this year’s effort are community leaders/philanthropists Ashlee and Chris Kleinert, who don’t hold back in their support of the DSID.

According to the Kleinerts, “Dallas ISD public dollars are stretched to the limits and are unable to cover additional impactful resources like cozy reading nooks in classrooms to promote a love of literacy, vibrant bulletin boards to showcase student accomplishments, refreshed teacher lounges to care for our teachers, spirit stores to instill campus pride and incentivize attendance, and care closets to provide fresh uniforms or needed winter coats.”

The plan is to finish all 51 projects on Saturday, April 22, which is ironically Earth Day. So far, 700 volunteers have completed 28 of the projects, but they need more hands to pitch in. Everyone from individuals, families and office staffers are welcome to be part of the success.

There are three opportunities to be a part of the program:

  • An organization or individual can sponsor a project
  • Sign up to volunteer on Saturday, April 22.
  • Join the celebration of Community Campus Day from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, at Dan D. Rogers Elementary
